About the Firm

A family-owned firm built on long client relationships.

Tkach and Associates CPA was founded in 1998 by David Tkach, CPA, MBA, with a simple idea: the people who handle your finances should know you, and should still be there next year. More than two decades later, that's still the standard.

We're a small, independent firm serving families and small businesses across Endicott, Binghamton, and the Southern Tier. The clients who walked in during our first year are largely still with us — and many have introduced us to their children's families and their next ventures. Our philosophy is straightforward: we treat your books like our own. That means careful, conservative work, plain-language advice, and a phone that gets answered when you call.

Why Choose Us

The way a CPA relationship should feel.

Trust isn't a marketing line. It's the result of how we run the practice — quietly, carefully, and on the same terms every year.

01

Local & Independent

Not a chain or franchise. Real relationships, with the same CPA reviewing your file every single year.

02

Year-Round Support

We're not just there in April. Quarterly check-ins are included so nothing surprises you at filing time.

03

Transparent Pricing

Flat-fee engagements scoped before we begin. No hourly meters, no creeping invoices, no surprises.

04

Direct CPA Access

You speak with your CPA — not a junior assistant or a call-center triage line. Calls returned the same day.

Client Voices

What local clients say.

David found deductions our previous accountant missed for years. The first review alone paid for several years of his fee. He understands small restaurants in a way most CPAs simply don't.

I always thought tax planning was for wealthy people. After two years working with Tkach and Associates, I realized it's just for organized people. The difference in what I owe — and what I keep — is real.
Jennifer R.Engineer · Binghamton, NY
I've called with questions in July, October, and January. Same response every time: a real answer, usually the same day. After fifteen years as a client, that consistency is what I value most.

Frequently Asked

Answers to common questions.

Sooner than most people think. If you own a business, have rental income, are saving for retirement, or have had a major life change — marriage, a home purchase, an inheritance — a CPA usually pays for themselves in the first year. We're happy to do a free, honest assessment of whether it makes sense for your situation.

Flat-fee engagements, scoped and quoted in writing before any work begins. We don't bill in six-minute increments and we don't surprise you with an invoice at year-end. If the scope of work changes, we'll talk first and re-quote together.

Most of our work happens outside of February through April. Bookkeeping, planning, advisory, and audit response are year-round services, and quarterly check-ins are built into every business engagement. We're open and reachable all twelve months.

For a first consultation, just your last two years of tax returns and a general sense of your goals. We'll send a tailored document checklist after our initial conversation so you only gather what's actually relevant — no oversized homework before we've even met.

Yes. We provide full IRS and New York State audit representation, including response letters, document compilation, and in-person representation if needed. You don't have to be an existing client to get help — call us and we'll review the notice with you.
